{ Attack of the Mutant Spider-Baby }
-excellentToday we had another “Attack of the Mutant Spider-Baby.” Only it wasn’t a baby. It was a nasty big wolf spider that scurried out from under my desk while I was working and just about ran over my coworker’s foot.
I want you to understand that I am the person that everyone hates when there is a bug to be squished. I cry about “spider-karma” and scoop the little buggers into a glass to take outside and set free, where they probably turn around and come right back inside. But I don’t kill them. And I don’t freak out.
But…. This was a nasty big wolf spider. So I shrieked like a little girl and lifted my foot to step on it….. when my Manager actually reached out and GRABBED my ankle. “It’s just a little bitty spider.” She cooed, while it ran back behind my desk. “See a picture of the little bitty spider here: http://nalts.files.wordpress.com/2006/10/wolf_spider.jpg)
Meanwhile everybody else in the room is freaking out and moving chairs, moving drinks, moving coats. And I have a Mutant Spider-Baby living under my desk, just waiting to bite my ankle. Anybody want to trade desks?
